Basic security tips for all players to avoid getting hacked/scammed:
-Dont trust anyone in game or here in forums if they claim to be GM/Admin.
-Admin or GM never ask your password for anything except when need to know your OLD password (for extra proof of account owner) when you have lost/forgot your current one. But its always asked through admin email.
-If someone asks your password, don't give it because if they were really admin, they could check it from database.
-Admin never send GM applications and such.
-Admin not use MSN or other messengers for handling your account problems.
-GMs doesnt need to know your account details (passwords, emails etc). Only admin may need in some cases (see above).
-IF you play in cyber cafe, try to type your passwords when no other people can see it.
-if you want secure your items better in inventory, deposit them to vault when you stop playing session so if someone log your account, there is smaller chance that you lose also items from characters.
-Do not use same login and passwords in other RYL servers if you play other servers also.
-Do not execute program files sent by other players through MSN or other messengers unless you made sure they are safe.
-Do not trust ppl that will send you things like "gm hack" program or something similar...they are most likely trojans that tryingto get your account info.
-Always download Torment patch either from torment website or from Updates forum section.
-If you play in cyber cafe or other public place, try to scan that computer from keyloggers/trojans before you play.
-Also if possible, you can use windows virtual keyboard to type passwords so they dont get keylogged then.
Item/account trading security tips for all players to avoid getting scammed:
-If you trade with player, make sure that you check item you will get AFTER other person has locked trade. If its ok and you lock also but then it get unlocked again, it means that other person has possibly switched item in trade box.
-Always if you are buyer, lock only after seller has locked, never do it before.
-Do not buy items or accounts from person that you dont trust well (in real cash or other "outside game" trades)
-Always do trades that fits in one trade screen.
-Some ppl may try to ask you to show your item in trade to try to trick you to drop your item on ground if they closes trade in right moment. To avoid that, put first something useless in trade (meat or something) that you dont mind dropping. That way if ppl closes trade, in worst case you drop meat only.
Gold bug note for stall owners:
There is gold bug with stackable items so i explain how to protect from it.
It only happens if your stall item stack total price exceed maximum gold you can hold and that bug is always been exist but now its more important because server has alot of gold in circulation.
How to make sure that this cannot be exploited in your stall?
Always sell that amount of total items that their price doesnt exceed the amount that you can hold in inventory.
In example if you have 0 gold when you start and you sell 100 spens..max price you can set per spens is 42,900,000 gold so when all your spens are sold its total 4,29 billion.
If you set higher price, you receive bugged amount of gold and also buyer loses much less when they buy.
If you sell non stackable items in stall that exceed max gold you can hold, you dont receive gold from those that will exceed your 4.29bill but buyer will still lose right amount of gold.
So always make sure before setting stall that your gold cannot go over 4.29 billion when all your items are sold.
So this is so called gold bug that is recently been common because of high stackable item prices.
What admin can do if you get scammed/hacked etc?
